Finding the good feeling in each moment in all the days.
I do it. I see others do it: we have so much that needs to be done but we are so caught up in listing it, feeling the pressure, expressing our dismay at having to do it that we don’t get started doing it very quickly.
Some days I wish I had a gag assistant: someone who would tie a bandanna around my mouth the moment I have a list of things to do and who would then point to the first item on my list. That’s all I have to do: the next thing.
And enjoy it :D
Tonight I discovered that taking the extra time to be fully present with my patients packs a great payoff for me! Rather than rushing to get things ‘done’ so that I can have time to play, I made the conscious decision to let go and trust the present moment. I ended up with plenty of ‘free’ time, I gained connection with other humans and my patients were happy (as far as I can tell).
Best part is that I’m not harried, not rushing, not sweating that next thing I have to do! I’m smiling and enJoying my job. As Eckhart Tolle would say, “I’m just in Joy in myself!”
